American Crow

Recognition
A bird which is black all over, including its legs and bill. It has a smaller tail than a Fish crow but is slightly larger in size at 18”.

Where seen
Often in small flocks sitting on wires along New Post Road

Jimmy’s notes
If you see a large flock of blackbirds they are probably American crows. On January 1, 2009, OBV was invaded a flock of several thousand. These crows always seem to appear in the late afternoon just as the sun is going down.
