Black and White Warbler

Recognition

These birds are quite small, about 5 in in length. Both the male and female look like they have zebra-type stripes.
The males have black cheeks and a black chin which the females don’t.

Where seen

Sometimes seen around the trees in Dog Patch and along New Post Road. Often seen moving up and down the bottom of the trees head first.

Jimmy’s notes

These birds are winter visitors arriving in late September and leaving in May.
