Magnolia Warbler

Recognition

Smallish bird with a dark back and yellow and black breast. Has white wing bars and a white stripe over the eye.

Females are duller than the males and the breast doesn’t have the vivid black stripes of the male.

Where seen

Seen behind the OBV clubhouse, low down along the ditch and also in the fir trees at the rear of the storage area along Old Bridge Road.

Jimmy’s notes

A bit similar to a Prairie Warbler which has a green back and lacks black face mask.
