Snowy Egret

Recognition
This white bird has black legs and a black bill. They are generally about 2 ft tall with yellow feet.

Where seen
Can be regularly seen in singles at the ponds at Lara Circle and Concord Drive.

Jimmy’s notes
Sometimes seen in good numbers feeding along the wetter areas of Burnt Store and Chiquita as well as the fields around Merchants crossing and Chiquita Boulevard. During the breeding seasons adults develop long feathers on the head. In flight it sticks its legs out behind the body.
