Report on the Christmas Concert 2009

Choristers thank you for a wonderful Christmas Concert. The variety of songs reflected the joy and spirit of the season. It was very relaxing to just sit back and enjoy your singing. Hats off to all of you for a super musical evening.

How fortunate we are to have a musician as talented as Marilynn Parkinson at OBV. As a professional musician she has performed at many venues here in Fort Myers as well as throughout the country. Since joining the OBV Chorus she has sung with the altos, accompanied the Harmonettes and planned and conducted the Christmas chorus program. We very much want her to continue in a leadership role with the OBV Chorus.

Our Spring Concert (Friday March 26th) will feature the music of George and Ira Gershwin. In addition to choral numbers there will be solos, duets and also songs by the Village Harmonettes.

We will be holding a raffle for the beautiful hand knitted blanket that Sue Doherty has made and donated to the OBV Chorus. Funds raised will help defray the cost of our music.

Rehearsals start on Wednesday January 6th at 9am. Music and folders will be distributed at that time.

New members are always welcome. If you like to sing...come join us and sing with your neighbors!
