A big THANK YOU to those who supported the OBV Chorus in this year's fund raising project! We raised over $850. This certainly helped offset the cost of music we used this year.
I have enjoyed working with the chorus. I am very appreciative of the support the chorus has received from the Social Alliance. We have received many "Thank You's" from OBV residents. We have been ecouraged, supported and appreciated...and for this, I thank you. Next season, you will find me signing in the bass section.
Marilynn Parkinson will be the OBV Chorus Director as of the coming season. She is a seasoned music professional who has worked with choirs, soloists - and as a solo performer and in groups - across the country. We are so fortunate to have her talents here in OBV.
She will have lots of support. Jenni Trevelyan will continue to provide secretarial services, Dick Trevelyan will continue as editor to "The Chorus Notes", Sharon Diachun will help with any staging or set designs as needed and I will assist Marilynn in selecting music and planning concert programs.
Virginia will be the accompanist. Her work with the baritones has greatly improved the chorus sound. She will be Marilynn's assistant. Mick Overman will help those singing solos and duets to prepare for concerts.
I look forward to the new season and the new and favorite songs we will be singing.
