EMERGENCIES ROAD SAFETY

Health Emergency
First, CALL 911. Please remember that many residents here are trained in CPR and in the use of a defibrillator and a community first responder can probably reach your home before the ambulance arrives.

Please call the Security Gate on 543- 4202 and they wlll immediately dispatch a first responder and equipment to assist.

Community Speed Limit

Speeding is on the rise. The speed limit is 15 MPH and STOP means to come to a stop when coming to a stop sign.

Golf Carts

Please remember that children aged under 16 may not drive golf carts. And when taking your golf cart to the Sweetbay shopping area, golf carts are to be parked in a parking space in the parking lot and not on the sidewalk. If golf carts are not parked properly, we could lose the permission we received from the Sheriff’s Department allowing golf carts to be driven down to the Sweetbay Shopping area.

211 - 24 hour Information and Referral Service

Use this dialing code for free access to health and social services information and referral. Visit this website for more information.

Motorcycles

Motorcycles are not permitted in the park except for transportation from one's home directly out of the park and directly into the park to one's home. In other words, motorcycles are not to be driven around the park. Those of you who have motorcycles, please be aware of the rule and abide by it. Thanks.

Back from Afghanistan -

A returning soldier's story

FIRST LT. BRANDON LOPES-BACA

"Where we were in the mountains of Northern Afghanistan, it's nothing but a dust pit,"  First Lt. Brandon Lopes-Baca 1BCT 10TH Mountain Division explained Saturday morning on his visit to thank residents of Old Bridge Village. He came to thank them for gift packages they sent to his platoon.  "The winds blew constantly and it was pretty cold. When the packages you sent us arrived from so far away, with toiletries, candy, deodorant, cologne, it was amazing... especially the deodorant. We really needed that, although we didn't have too much use for the cologne," he laughed.

FULL STORY AND MORE PIX....

You can also hear an extract from Lt Baca's talk to Old Bridge Residents..."It really means a lot to us..."

Computer Club

WIFI NEWS

The Computer Club was formed in October 2010.

It meets every Monday in the White House at 10am during the season.

Aim: To form a club under the umbrella of the OBV Social Alliance for the purpose of exchanging information, sharing ideas, solving your computer problems and helping others to learn more.

This club was set up so that members can work together to solve common problems and learn more about their computers, the programs they use, and new solutions to everyday tasks.

The Club is also the place where you can find expert PROBLEM SOLVING.  Chuck Flynn, Kat Whittaker and others will be on hand regularly to help find a solution.  And if they can’t help, they can recommend the most appropriate action.

Everyone is welcome to join.  The Club will re-convene in January 2012.
